“A goal is a dream with a deadline.”- Napoleon Hill

This is so succinctly sublime, it’s almost prosaic! As usual though, there’s a lot more being said than in merely the words used – what’s the sentiment that underlies the vocabulary?

There’s a piece coming up later this month about dreamers and doers, how the world needs both, but above all it needs people that put dreams into action. That’s what’s being said here – it’s a reminder that your dreams need to be followed up if they are to become reality!

And one way to make that happen is to translate your dream into a defined goal – and, after that, most of you will already be familiar with the ‘T’ in ‘SMART’ when it comes to effective goalsetting methodology……right?

Without follow-through, your dream is just a fantasy and without deadlines, your goals may never be achieved – so, Hill is reminding us, in just eight words, of the need to see things through if you are to give your fantasies a proper chance of being realised and of the importance of applying some discipline to your ambition.

So, what are you waiting for? You can always revise a deadline, reimagine a dream or redefine a goal – but nothing will move until you do.

Hup! Ho! Let’s go! You can do it! Make it so!

Yeah……well……whatever approach works for you – my point is that everything starts somewhere and only doing gets it done!

What are you dreaming of achieving? Will you make the necessary steps to move it from fantasy to reality? Will you start. Right. Now? 🤔💭🤩

Love and light,

Jim Sharman
