“Vision without action is merely a dream. Action without vision just passes the time. Vision with action can change the world.”- Joel Barker

And it does – we’ve seen it many times. Examples of people practising this include the likes of Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Steve Jobs, Maya Angelou, Malala Yousafzai, Greta Thunberg, etc. Individuals who all, through their actions, made (or are now making) positive changes to the history of humankind.

All of them had or have something special within them – some extra drive that propels them towards greatness, even if that’s not their aim. The change they created and can still create provides benefits we cannot begin to fathom! The question today is how can you make such changes without the courage to take the necessary action to make your vision come to life?

Consider then what changes you wish to make in your own life specifically – and/or to the lives of those around us – what change are you dreaming of but have not acted upon? Or what actions have you taken for the sake of taking them but have not applied to a specific purpose or vision? Where is there a disconnect between what you want and what you do?

Then look for how you can adjust your reality so that your desires and your output match each other and combine to create an impact greater than the sum of those two parts.

You might not be setting out to change the world – yet the actions of one person can have such a profound impact and positive effect that they motivate and spur into action countless other individuals – and, before you know it, a positive wave has spread far beyond even the wildest dreams of the person who initiated it.

Will you take the first active step today, or pick up from where you previously left off, and make your dream come alive for others to see?

Love and light,

Jim Sharman
